Ava Logan and Elizabeth Doyle present: “Cole Porter and Bricktop’s Paris”, a musical lecture exploring the much-storied special friendship between Cole Porter and club owner/entertainer Ada “Bricktop” Smith.
Other luminaries in Bricktop’s orbit were Josephine Baker, Mabel Mercer, Alberta Hunter and even Langston Hughes!
Cole’s song, “Miss Otis Regrets” purportedly was written for Bricktop and became one of her signature songs.
